During interview with a Karen state citizen, Burma Election Tracker was told: "The USDP asked the population and said they will come again to provide voting ballots but they didn't, so we had to vote in advance. Burma Election Tracker conducted the following interview with a Citizen from Rangoon division after the election, where a number of election issues such as fraud, access to polling stations and miscounting of votes were raised:

In Dimawhso Township, Red Karen State (Karenni State) the polling station was moved by the order of the Commission without informing the voters, said a voter.

An inside network in in Mandalay Division advised Burma Election Tracker that a Ward Chairperson took a 13 year old person to the polling station and forced the child to vote for USDP. At 10:30 am in the morning, the Polling Station Commission announced that all the 3,000 eligible voters had cast their votes already and USDP had a landslide victory. A voter went to the polling station at 3:00 pm in the afternoon to vote and was told that he had already voted. The voter explained that he had not cast a vote yet and would complain to the police. He was finally allowed to cast a vote.

A Rangoon voter explained to Burma Election Tracker that he was prevented from casting his vote: "Eligible voter names from our house were collected but when I actually went to cast my vote, I was told that my name was not listed and I had to go home without voting. I got no explanation of why I was not in the list. Villagers have accused township officials of harassment for not supporting Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) candidates in Sunday’s national election, according to an election watchdog group in Maungdaw.

Voters from Buthidaung say they have been threatened by Major Sein Win, commander of the Burma’s border security force in Area 9 because they voted for candidates of the National Democratic Party for Development (NDPD).

There have been numerous reports of violations of election laws and officials casting votes on behalf of voters, without their knowledge or consent.

A citizen in Karenni state told Burma Election tracker: "I returned after traveling and was not able to vote. I realized someone else had voted on my behalf and I don't know which party that person voted for. There will not be change. "

Reports of intimidation and arrests in ethnic areas during Burma’s elections

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) has received reports of harassment, intimidation, violence and arrests in several of Burma’s ethnic states, during and immediately following the sham elections three days ago.
